APL Crazy Caesar Salad

Love a Caesar, hate the nutrition facts on most recipes. We amended this situation by making a healthier version of this tasty fave for any time of the year and with a few different topping variations. Here we have 2-minute gluten-free bread croutons (day-old, toasted, & brushed with olio & rubbed with a clove of garlic- SO simple,) avocado slices, hemp seeds, shredded Romaine, & our APL Caesar Dressing.  Feel free to shred some radicchio and toss that in for some more color, roast or toast some chickpeas instead of croutons, add in some grilled onion or roasted carrots. Make it crazy fun, tasty, & to your liking!


  • *for the dressing:
  • 1/2 cup Veganaise
  • 3 TB cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 TB nutritional yeast
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 TB Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder
  • sea salt & pepper, to taste
  • water, to thin out as-needed
  • 2 cups Romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 TB hemp seeds
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free bread crumbs or cup toasted chickpeas


  1. Simply mix the dressing ingredients together and place 2 1/2 TB of it on top of the salad ingredients!
