Bangin’ Black Rice Bowl

Ok, so I didn’t serve this in a bowl, but you should when you mix all of this yummy, healthy goodness together! We’ve got a well-balanced mix of chewy black rice, spicy mashed carrots, crunchy raw beauty veggies, heart-healthy hemp hearts, meaty Bragg’s marinated Shiitake mushrooms, + nutrition-packed seaweed.

Bangin’ Black Rice Bowl

makes 1 serving

What You Need:

  •  1/2 cup prepared black rice
  • 1/2 cup hydrated seaweed of choice
  • 1 TB hemp hearts
  • 1 cup APL Carrot Mash
      • 1 purple carrot, steamed
      • 1 orange carrots, steamed
      • 1 yellow carrot, steamed
      • 1 white carrot, steamed
      • 2-3 Thai chiles, dried + divided
      • 1 garlic clove, minced + divided
      • 1 1/2 TB cilantro, chopped
  • 1/8 cup radish, sliced in half
  • 1/8 cup jicama, sliced into sticks
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, marinated in Bragg’s liquid aminos for an hour ahead of time in the fridge
  • Coconut Secret garlic sauce or your choice of gluten-free sauce (if you choose oyster sauce, make sure to dilute it with water + use less than other sauces- it’s thick)
  • Optional: top with avocado mash once you mix it all together or add some shredded green cabbage as a base

To Make:

  1. Marinate the raw, but well-cleaned Shiitakes.
  2. Prepare the rice and hydrate the seaweed-of-choice + place on the plate.
  3. Steam the carrots and mash them with the additional ingredients, place on the plate.
  4. Chop the radish + jicama and place on the plate.
  5. Top all with hemp hearts + drizzles of Coconut Secret Garlic Sauce.
