*Build a database of your favorite simple, but tasty recipes with a grocery list so you have a quick fix/plan B for meal prep⁠⠀

*Look for small ingredients changes in your favorite "cheat" meals and rehab them to make a healthier meal⁠⠀
*Switch up your color with veggies so you get variety in both flavor + nutrients⁠⠀

1.  ACCOUNTABILITY: When in doubt, write it out. Because if you don't, in your brain, did it really happen?⁠⠀
2.  FEELINGS MATTER: Food amnesia is a thing - track feelings as well as quantity of food so you connect with the what and the why⁠⠀
3.  IT ISN'T JUST FOOD...all wellness should be tracked for total body awareness⁠⠀

I operate under a philosophy that coaches clients to truly FEEL THEIR FOODS. Food has physical, mental, and emotional affects on your body. We are so hyper-focused on the fleeting comforts we get emotionally, that we conveniently forget that some foods indeed make us feel like crap! ⁠⠀

Something to think about: that dose of happiness you get from that bite of chocolate or taste of cheese fries? That lasts all of 20 seconds. Is that 20 seconds worth the hours of discomfort you feel afterwards? ⁠⠀

"WHEN IN DOUBT, WRITE IT OUT" is a catchphrase I ask my clients to remember....it is not just a food diary, but I task my clients with a daily “wellness” diary that is not solely about quantity of food + drink, but about the quality, how you feel before and after meal, how your energy levels are throughout the day…it’s about your whole body health, which is directly related to your state of being + not just the number on the scale. It's about sleep + stress patterns, workouts, steps/daily movement, water intake, + more.⁠⠀

You can divide it into sections based on how you move through the store. When I walk in, I am in the produce section first, so that's the top of my list.⁠⠀

***Note: outer aisles (the perimeter method) generally host the whole, clean, essential foods vs interior aisles that are generally packaged processed foods.⁠⠀

Have alternatives/substitutes in mind or written down for things that are commonly out of stock.⁠⠀

Save your lists so you can quickly snag it when you repeat a meal prep menu for a week when you don't have time to plan anything new.⁠⠀
